It seems that Sony have now raised the bar in home cinema projectors with the VPL-VW100, this Sony projector can display an image in Full1080p Hi-Def. The Sony VPL-VW100 seems to have the perfect balance with innovative technology and a sexy sleek design.

Sony have used the SXRD (new Silicon X-Tal Reflective Display) projection engine, Sony have used this kind of technology before in a projector, but that system cost over £20k, this model is expensive but much cheaper than the £20,000 price tag of the old Qualia 04 projector.

The iris used in the VPL-VW100 is very advanced; it knows just how much light it needs to let in through its lens, so it can automatically adjust to how dark the viewing image is. With this system Sony, claim that the VPL-VW100 has a contrast ratio of 15000:1.

Black levels are just outstanding, and the colours are so vivid, it seems that the Sony VPL-VW100 HD Projector does not break a sweat while watching a movie.
