The upcoming 45th annual SID (Society for Display) 2007 event, which is to be held at Long Beach, California, from the 22-24th May, is going to be an exciting time for Samsung. This year the company are to show off the world’s largest electronic paper, this is an A4 sized plastic, flexible display.
What makes this e-paper even better is how it can still show the image after its powers supply has been shut off. That is not the best part about this new technology, if you bend the paper, the colour will not distort.
Samsung are also showing off their new 40-inch LCD TV, which has an LED backlight system, the TV is said to be the largest EPD (electrophoretic display), and has a screen resolution of 1,366 X 768 pixels. Power consumption is very low in this huge TV, this seems to be the way forward now for most TV manufactures.
