At the moment most TV’s use fluorescent lighting as the back lighting, but Samsung believe by 2010 30% of all TV’s sold will have the new LED BLU. Samsung say that this white LED will produce the same amount of colour that it takes red, green and blue lights in TV’s today.
Higher end TV’s do have LED’s in them now but the cost is huge, but by using this new technology where one white LED will do all colours should reduce the cost by at least 40%.
