Samsung Electronics will be showing off their new 40-inch Full HD LCD TV which is only 10.0 millimeters thick, or thin whatever way you wish to look at it. They will be showing of this television at the FPD International 2007, in Yokohama, Japan, from October 24-26. This 0.39-inch TV is expected to be the first in a wave of newer thinner TV’s, the bezel on this TV has gone from 30mm on standard TV’s to just 14.6mm.
This new Samsung TV uses an LED backlight, this helps to reproduce 92 percent of the NTSC standard for color saturation, another great thing is that the television uses about 90 watts less power consumption. It seems as if Samsung is taking the first leap into the world of ultra thin TV’s, but it will not be long before some of the other TV makers follow.
