We have reviewed a few KURO models from the Pioneer range of TV’s this time round we have the PDP-LX5080D; this is the 50-inch version from the Plasma range. There are hardly any differences with the KURO models apart from the screen sizes.
The name KURO means Black in Japanese, and this has to do with how perfect the black levels are in the KURO range. No other television in this range can come close to the black levels in the KURO. There are a greater number of contrast shades as well, so if you love to watch movies like Star Wars you are going to be in for a treat.
