From the moment that you switch the Philips 47PFL9632D you will think wow, as the Ambilight technology seems to take you by surprise just a little. Philips have worked very hard to try and produce a TV that not only looks good, but will also e able to deliver on the promise of great performance, and it seems as if they might have pulled it off.
The Philips 47PFL9632D has a 47 Inch LCD screen and do not worry about this huge lump of plastic hanging on your wall looking ugly, as Philips really have made a nice looking Television. This LCD TV had one big problem it had to try and overcome first, and that is that black levels are never as good on and LCD compared to a Plasma, however Philips believe that they have might just have solved this problem.

You might me wondering what helps the 47PFL9632D achieve great image quality, well that is simple as with normal TV’s they use just one backlight which is always on, however with this TV it uses a range of hot cathode fluorescent lights that are individually-controllable. This technology helps to give a picture quality much like we used to have in old CRT televisions, this gives you a much sharper image and also black levels are much higher than other LCD TV’s.
There are a few slight problems with the Philips 47PFL9632D though, but these are only minor, but one of this is with the set up you have to be very careful with the settings. HD Natural Motion and also Noise Reduction are just two settings, set these too high and you will make your picture worse and not better.
My advice to you is, when you unpack your new Philips 47PFL9632D, please read all the instructions as this is not the simplest TV to set up one wrong setting and you can ruin all Philips hard work.
