Panasonic have now started production of their new 45nm chip, the company claim that this new chip which is being manufactured in Ouzo, Japan will give increased power and performance, and this in turn increases high-definition audio and video applications.
Panasonic are sitting pretty, as they have beaten their rivals Sony and Toshiba to the production of this new 45nm process. Panasonic seem to be making huge advances in technology, as they recently developed the new generation UniPhier called LSI. This helps to integrate new compression/decompression.
The new 45nm LSI chip will be able to display two 1080p displays which can run in parallel, not only that 3D graphics perform better and the energy consumption is at least 50% lower than that of 65nm alternatives.
