We have just learned that Panasonic are to bundle Blu-ray players with some of their models of TV’s, not much is known about the deal but what we have found out from Engadget is that a couple of big retailers are in on the deal which include Circuit City and Best Buy as well as a few other big companies.
A spokesperson for Panasonic has said that they are to release two new high-end Blu-ray player models when the deal is available for consumers.
The Blu-Ray player in question, is one of the items in which the optional ability to play regular DVD’s is not present. Or did you not know that the compatabality to play your Music CD’s, Video CD’s and or regular DVD’s is only an option on BluRay DVD’s. To use it you will have to have BluRay DVD’s ONLY. And Region specific, Region 3 only.
Not so with HD-DVD’s this is required, they are Region Free(even plays UK DVD’s) Uses UDF (Universal Disk format, plays all DVD’s (backward compatability Required) MPEG, VCD, Etc. without restrictions Required(Restrictions can be set by the user thru the menu setup) HD/DVD players also require the ability to access the Net so as to update the bios, Codecs etc. BluRay does not have this capability, also HD/DVD’s can use TriLayer DVD’s with 17gb per layer, rather than 15gb per layer, giving it the ability to hold 51gb of data, compared to 20 gb BluRay. Plus HD/DVD is American, BluRay is Japanese, VOTE AMERICAN, Buy American, be PRO American, not a traitor.
