Lets get the first thing out of the way first, the new HD81-LV DLP Projector from Optoma is not going to be cheap, $7,999 is how much you will have to pay, so you have to be very serious about home entertainment to spend that amount of money. If you do have that kind of money spare then the Optoma HD81-LV is a great choice for a projector.
This system comes as a two part package, firstly the projector itself which has a brightness of 2,500 lumens and a contrast ratio of 10,000:1. The second part of this package is a box that has a range of connections that help to make this a superb studio grade projector.
The connectivity of this box really does improve this projector, you get three HDMI ports and on top of that an external HDMI expansion, there are three S-Video, two BNC component, three composite video, two component, one VGA and an RS-232 serial port.
For $7,999 there are much better things I could purchase for that kind of money, but if did not have to worry about such things as money then I would definitely get myself one.
