When it comes to plasma TV’s it has always been a fight between Pioneer and Panasonic, every now and again you would see Pioneer edge out in front. Now it seems that Pioneer is set to creep out in front yet again with the launch of their 8th generation Plasma TV’s.

Pioneer has stated that their TV’s will offer a viewing experience like never before and that “seeing and hearing like never before; with the deepest levels of black and high-grade audio.”

The three models that is due to be released are the 42-inch PDP-428XD, 50-inch PDP-5080HD and the 60-inch PDP-LX608D. The contrast levels on the TV’s will be 20,000:1, and Pioneer says that the black levels will be up to 80% blacker. They also state that the colours will be richer and the image will have sharper detail.
